A Beautiful Leicestershire Wedding: Sam & Eddie

As I sit here reminiscing about Sam and Eddie's wedding, I can't help but feel emotional. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and joy, and Gareth and I were lucky enough to witness it all firsthand.

The morning sun rose slowly, melting away the last of the previous day’s snow in the quaint village of Sileby in Leicestershire. It was a special day, a day that Sam and Eddie had been dreaming of for so long, and had originally been planned for September last year.

As the morning unfolded, Sam was surrounded by her closest family and friends, all bustling around her as she got ready for the biggest day of her life. Her bridesmaids looked stunning in their burgundy gowns, and her daughter Elisha-May, the flower girl, looked like a little angel in her white dress with a bow. Even the family dog, Smudge, was dressed up for the occasion, wearing a smart suit and bow tie. While the talented ladies fussed with hair and make up on the bride, the doorbell rings with a flurry of flowers. Stunning burgundy orchids and roses for the bride’s bouquet.

Sam's dress was breathtaking, embellished with beads that glistened in the light, and a long train that trailed behind her as she walked. Her cathedral veil was the perfect finishing touch, and she looked every inch the beautiful bride that she was and I felt a lump form in my throat as I watched her parents beam with pride as she stepped out on to the patio to reveal her finish look. The bride, their daughter.

Meanwhile, just a few minutes away, Eddie and his groomsmen were getting ready at the couple’s home. Before heading to the church to welcome their guests, they shared a drink at the local pub to calm their nerves.

The Barrow Baptist church was filled with family and friends, all eager to witness the union of Sam and Eddie. When Sam arrived the nerves were apparent on both the bride and groom, and as the music began their daughter Elisha-May started the procession as the flower girl down the aisle. As the ceremony began, the air was filled with a sense of reverence and awe, and I watched as Sam and Eddie exchanged their vows, sealing their love in front of their loved ones.

It was a special place for Sam's family, as it was where her parents had been married too. As the vows began to be exchanged, there was a small hiccup as Eddie’s wedding day nerves got the better of him and he said the wrong name at the altar. He had incorrectly said his own name, but the giggles that followed only added to the joy and happiness of the day.

After the ceremony, everyone stepped outside for the confetti throw, with bright petals showering over the newlyweds. Guests gathered to congratulate the newlyweds and photos of family and friends were taken, that will become future heirlooms for their children and grandchildren.

Then it was off to Kegworth, to the hotel for the reception, where more special moments awaited. Friends and family gathered to enjoy a drink and food, while catching up. Soon after the wedding breakfast began with the traditional cutting of the cake, followed by a heartfelt speech from Sam's father that brought tears to everyone's eyes.

The guests enjoyed a delicious buffet of food, savouring every moment of the celebration. And as the evening went on, the dancing began, with everyone moving to the beat and having a wonderful time. It was a day of love and laughter, of family and friends, and of making unforgettable memories.

As the night drew to a close, and the rain began to fall outside, it was clear that Sam and Eddie's wedding had been everything they had dreamed of and more. It was a day that would be remembered forever, a day that brought together two people in love, surrounded by those who cared about them the most. It was a day that was truly special, a day of pure joy and happiness.
